What’s New

Changes to Yoga Program as of September 2011

Since beginning the yoga program in 1998, Yoga has continued to evolve.  The following changes will enable us to move the program in the direction most compatible with our student’s needs, and the mission of the Center for Optimal Health, including use of the state-of-the-art Studio.  Beginning 9/12/2011, the following changes will occur:

1. Michelle’s Monday class will move to a new location and will be managed by Michelle—please contact Michelle at 609-413-6656.

2. Monday evening yoga will consolidate one class at COH, at the mixed beginner level, at 6:15 pm every week except the 2nd Monday of each month (beginning September 12) to enable students coming from a distance and for Dr. Cheikin to resume his monthly lecture series which has been on hiatus for a number of years. (click here for pending topics for the lecture series)

3. Each of Dr. Cheikin's Monday yoga classes will include  a "mini-lecture" reviewing important health topics.

4. Prices for yoga classes will be reduced effective September 2011; the fee schedule will be available soon, and will apply to all new registrations beginning August 2011.

5. We will be scheduling Therapeutic Yoga Workshops, time and topics pending. (click here for pending topics for the workshop series)

Dr. Cheikin recommends heavy metal screening

Heavy metal tests are proving to be positive for over 75% of patients, especially those with chronic and obscure conditions that are not responding well to conventional and even “alternative” approaches.  In the younger population, we are seeing more mercury, while in the older population, we are seeing more lead.  These metals collect in our bodies over a lifetime and can cause or exacerbate virtually every chronic illness.

Organic Fruit and Vegetable Product

We have found a product that is mostly organic, gives details about the contents, and  is manufactured by a well-reputed company, using GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).  This product is recommended for adults and children who do not like fruits and vegetables, or do not have the time for shopping and preparation.  It is helpful for a host of inflammatory conditions affecting adults and children.
